I started wearing digital hearing aids in October of 2003. After having each of them rebuilt once, I decided it was time to replace them but was concerned about the cost factor. I went to the retailer where I had purchased my first pair and they quoted me a set that was similar to what I had with few enhancements and was going to cost $3,000. I went to another hearing aid center and was quoted $2,500 for a pair with more bells and whistles, but I still found it hard to pay that much. So to the internet I went, not really expecting to find anything but after searching around ran into the America Hears site.

Still skeptical, I requested some information from America Hears and did an investigation on the company. Found that they have been manufacturing hearing aids since 1984, and have an “A” rating with the Better Business Bureau. After receiving the information and the Virtual Office software, I decided to email my audiogram and see what they would do. I received a call the next day and had a very informative conversation with them. They quoted me a price on a pair of hearing aids and it was 50% less than the pair similar to what I had. Plus they included a cleaning kit and the software and hardware necessary to connect the aids to the computer so I could adjust them myself or have America Hears adjust them using the internet connection.

What a deal! Almost too good to be true, but because they also have a 60 day money back guarantee, I decided to give them a try. Ordered them on a Monday, received them on the following Wednesday morning. After unpacking the box, I put them on and after a few hours knew that they needed some adjustments so I set it up right there at work and in a short time had them adjusted myself using the software they included. Over the next few days did a couple more adjustments using the software and now feel they are perfect! They are better than my other hearing aids ever were and I did not need to keep going back to where I purchased them and have them adjusted numerous times.

Question: Why would anyone want to spend twice as much for, in my opinion, an inferior pair of hearing aids?

Advantages of purchasing from America Hears:

• Lower cost • Equal, if not greater quality
• Convenience, no trips to the retailer
• Ability to adjust hearing aids yourself or can be done by Hearing America via internet
• 60 day trial period
• Will give a credit for trade in of old hearing aids
