America Hears Offers $200 Trade-in Incentives

BRISTOL, PA-April 2, 2008-America Hears announced it will offer current hearing-aid wearers incentives of up to $200 to trade in any brand of old hearing aids when they purchase next-generation digital hearing aids online from America Hears

Customers who turn in their old hearing aids will receive a credit of $100 per hearing aid, or $200 a pair, on the purchase of new digital products from America Hears. The discount is intended to make next-generation hearing aids available to a broader market than ever before by providing premium products at appropriate prices for the first time.

"There are hundreds of thousands of unused hearing aids sitting in bureau drawers across America whose owners had an unsatisfying experience with older technologies," said Henry C. Smith, CEO of America Hears. "But next-generation digital hearing aids offer huge improvements in price, performance, comfort, appearance and ease of use."

"With baby boomers turning 60 at the rate of 8,000 a day, the laws of demographics and hearing health dictate that a sizable percentage will soon need hearing assistance," said Smith. "In fact, more than 30 million Americans have some degree of hearing loss but fewer than 25 percent have gotten any help for it."

America Hears is the only manufacturer of premium digital hearing aids that sells directly to consumers over the internet and supports them with its own staff of experienced audiologists. Its new Freedom digital hearing aids offer the most advanced digital sound processing technology in a broad range of product models, including popular new "open-fit" designs. Because America Hears sells direct, it is able to price all its hearing aids at $995, less than half the cost of other premium digital hearing-aid products.

"Anyone who can afford to buy a new flat-screen TV or personal computer should be able to afford the hearing assistance they need," Smith said. "America Hears is the first to put a new pair of quality digital hearing aids within reach of millions of American consumers who need them."
