Australia Hears Pty Ltd. Will Develop New Hearing Technologies While Providing Premium Digital Hearing Aids to Australia and New Zealand

BRISTOL, PA--Sept. 9, 2008--Henry C. Smith, Sr., and Peter Blamey, PhD, today announced an alliance between America Hears Inc. and Australia Hears Pty Ltd. to provide premium digital hearing-aid products to residents of Australia and New Zealand. Dr. Blamey is the inventor of the ADRO® (Advanced Dynamic Range Optimization) amplification algorithms that power many of the world's cochlear implants and hearing aids. Australia Hears will sell and support the complete line of hearing-aid products from America Hears-which already utilize ADRO® software to deliver the highest-quality sound processing in the hearing industry-and Dr. Blamey will continue collaborating with America Hears to develop next-generation hearing-aid solutions.

It was key to the continued success of implant pioneer Cochlear Ltd., and in 2002, Dr. Blamey founded Dynamic Hearing Pty Ltd with Dr. Elaine Saunders to further develop ADRO® and other technologies for hearing aids. America Hears integrated ADRO® into its entire line of premium digital hearing aids, and America Hears collaborated with Dynamic Hearing on continuous improvement of the ADRO® algorithms for hearing aids. Today ADRO® is the most sophisticated and advanced hearing healthcare software available.

About Dr. Peter Blamey and Australia Hears

With Dr. Peter Blamey as founder and CEO, Australia Hears will sell and support America Hears hearing aids through qualified and established audiologists and dispensers throughout Australia and New Zealand, while continuing to develop new hearing-aid technologies that will be integrated in new products sold by both companies. Dr. Blamey earned a PhD in Physics from Monash University and is an honorary Professorial Fellow at The University of Melbourne. During his career as a Principal Research Fellow at the University of Melbourne, Dr. Blamey worked on the Bionic Ear, hearing aids and other devices for people with impaired hearing. He has published over 150 papers in physics, psychophysics, speech processing, speech perception and language development in children with impaired hearing. He is an inventor on 16 international patent and patent application families, including ADRO® processing. In 2007, he shared the International Award of the American Academy of Audiology with Dr Richard Seewald. After graduating with the University Medal in Theoretical Physics from ANU in 1972, he worked in insurance for two years, qualifying as an Associate of the Institute of Actuaries (London), including a certificate in Finance and Investment. He is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
